Privacy Policy

Effective July 8, 2026

The short version: Glaso does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers, and no Glaso servers. Everything you create in the app stays on your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

Glaso stores your content locally, inside the app's private (sandboxed) container on your Mac:

• Notes, including pasted images
• Imported books and documents (Glaso keeps its own copy so the original file is no longer needed)
• Favorites, browser tabs, and browsing session data
• Settings, workspace presets, custom hotkeys, and video playback positions

None of this is uploaded anywhere. Deleting Glaso and its container removes it all.

Web browsing

Glaso's browser mode loads pages with Apple's WebKit engine, directly from the websites you visit. Those websites see the same standard information any browser sends (such as your IP address). Glaso itself does not see, log, or relay your browsing — there is no proxy or middleman server.

On-device image search (OCR)

When you paste a screenshot into a note, Glaso indexes any text in the image using Apple's Vision framework so search can find it later. This happens entirely on your Mac. Images and recognized text are never sent anywhere.

Camera and microphone

Glaso never records audio or video itself. If a website you use in browser mode (for example, a video call) requests your camera or microphone, you are asked for permission first — per site, plus the standard macOS system prompt. Deny it and the site simply works without capture.

Purchases

Pro purchases and restores are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, email, or payment details. Your purchase receipt is verified on-device and remembered locally.

Network connections Glaso makes

The app connects to the internet only to load the pages and media you ask for, and to Apple's App Store services for purchases and receipt validation. It makes no other connections — there are no update pings, telemetry, or crash reporters.

This website

glaso.app is a static site served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. Like virtually all web hosting, our infrastructure provider may keep standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, request time) for security and operations.

Children

Glaso includes an unrestricted web browser and is rated 17+ on the App Store. It is not directed at children.
